The War on Children

 In children, South Africa

I cannot begin to explain the pain I feel in my chest. It is like my heart has been ripped out and thrown on the floor and like a glass vase it has been smashed into a million little pieces

So this is what it feels like to lose a child. This is what it feels like to know that you will never hear their voice again, you will never hear them laugh or cry.

It will be a year soon, since I have become actively involved in struggle . In the struggle for a Free Palestine, I have witnessed a genocide taking place. Where pictures of mothers holding their dead children’s bodies have become random. With many different stories of children being bombed, whole families being killed and erased. The unbearable pain and destruction that is unleashed on Gaza, is all in pursuit of US/Israhell pursuit of land that is not their own.

I’ve seen how many families in the DRC has to flee their homes, and their land. In pursuit of safety. DRC holds the world’s largest cobalt mines. A mineral that is found in every cellphone or laptop battery. Without DRC’s cobalt none of us would be enjoying the luxury of these gadget’s. Yet the rightful owners of the land has been raped and slaughtered. They have had to flee their homes in order to survive. They have become targets to be hunted down by a brutal system that puts capital above life itself .

In Sudan I have seen how people can be starved to death, little children wrapped in only a thin layer of flesh. Yet they have to flee under attacks. They’re only sin is being born in a country rich in a mineral mix, with gold, copper, iron ore, petroleum, chromium and magnesium. All the natural resources that turns imperialist dictators into blood hounds. Seeking to erase lives to gain the minerals.

We have been part of many protests and several demonstrations over the years and yet the bomb’s keep dropping. Many people across the world has spoken out against the evils we see unfolding. Yet nothing is changing infact, it always seems like everything is just getting much worse by the day.

The recent attacks on Iran by the US/Israhell has revealed the bombings of a girl’s elementary school, leaving over 150 little girls’ dead. In the ongoing middle east conflict. This conflict flares up amid revelations of the Epstein files, where we are sickened by stories of young girls being abducted into sex trade. Sex trade for the elites who hunger and thirst after the humiliation and annihilation of the children and young women.

In South Africa I am now seeing a sharp rise in xenophobia wich is once more in favour of the elites. Ordinary working class migrant’s are being harrassed, jailed and exploited on a daily basis. The sickly are being denied access to healthcare. The employed are being targetted for extortion. Men are being held in a maximum security correctional facility, for not carrying their documentation. These men are locked up with serial killers, rapists and gang members. The unspeakable atrocities they face in these prisons, leaves them scarred for life.

Communities are riddled with gang violence, drugs and alcohol. Schools have become targets and battle grounds. With many children choosing to drop out of School rather than becoming victims of gang violence in schools and turfs.

What also breaks our hearts right now is the unspoken reality of suicide in our communities. Every week we hear of a young person or a mother/father who has taken the dreaded choice to end their suffering. More and more kid’s are finding it easier to end their lives rather than going on in the situation they find themselves in.

Without any support of counsellors in schools, children who experience bullying have to carry that burden alone. Most of the time the bullying doesn’t end at the school gates…it follows them home, it taunts them online.. in reality it is killing our kids like an invisible bomb targetting the vulnerable.

GBV has become a norm and now a pandemic in South Africa. Woman are suffering unimaginable abuse at the hands of their partners, many end up being killed.
